Hit List
Ideally,
you should try to expose your puppy to the following list
of people, objects, and animals before the age of 14 weeks,
and then continue till your puppy is about 10 months of
age.

- As a rule
of thumb, try to take your puppy someplace new every week.
- Adults:
men and women of varying ages, heights, shapes, and races.
- People
wearing a wide range of clothing such as raincoats, hats,
winter coats...
- People
using crutches and wheelchairs
- Children:
of different ages, personalities (shy/bold), and in different
costumes
- Crying
babies
- Animals:
cats, horses, cows, etc...
- Vacuum
cleaners and other appliances
- Thunderstorms
- Airplanes
- Gunshots
- Fireworks
- Balloons
popping
- Ceiling
fans
- Brooms
- Lawnmower/yard
tools/garden hosepipes
- Elevators
- Sirens
- Things
on wheels like bicycles, skateboarders, rollerskaters
- Umbrellas
opening and closing
- Get puppy
used to seeing things differently, by setting boxes upside
down, chairs on their sides, ironing boards in different
positions...
- Frequent
handling (daily) of entire body including toes, feet,
ears, and teeth
- Frequent
grooming (weekly): nail trims, brushing, cleaning ears
- Puppy
also needs to have time alone daily to prevent separation
anxiety
