Puppies : Kalahari's B-litter : Week Seven (5/16/06 - 5/23/06)

It has started to warm up here, so the pups now have a small plastic wading pool to splash in.

They all love the water and paw it, splash it, and lie down in it.

They tend to now go outside in the mornings and late afternoons/evenings, choosing to spend the hotter part of the day indoors sleeping.


We have been taking each one out individually for personal exploration time around the house, and they have loved the new sights and smells.

They also now have access to a wire crate placed inside of their sleeping area with the door open, so they get used to it. Many of them choose to sleep and play inside of it. They are growing at a tremendous pace, many of them gaining up to 1 lb overnight!

This week, we also had each puppy temperament tested using the Puppy Aptitude Test by Wendy Volhard. Alicia Ward from K-9 Solutions in Plano, TX came over to do the test for us. The results will help me place each pup in the home it is best suited for.

They will get their second worming this week. Early next week, they will get their first set of shots, as well as their microchip identification. They have been taking short car rides, and will also get to go the vet next week for their final checks.
