Puppies : Previous Litters : Kalahari's A-litter : Week Four

2/10/05: Puppies can now clamber over the pig rails in the whelping box and come out the door. We've now set up a 30" tall ex-pen in the same room as the whelping box that encloses a larger area for them. The ex-pen enclosure has an area with pine shavings for them to go potty on (which they are all very consistently doing now), a sleeping area with comfy blankets, and a feeding area where their food and water pans are placed. Over the next week, they will have indoor-outdoor access to our patio outside which will contain pine shavings as well to facilitate early housebreaking, as well as start taking short outings into our grassy yard.

2/11/05: The pups are now having fun interacting with toys. They have several small stuffed animals that make noises, fleece toys, and a small Jolly ball which is a hit so far.
