Kallie was born in Norway in late 2001. I was lucky to visit with the beautiful Skjaergaarden leonbergers over a fun weekend, when the snow had piled up to about 14' on either side of the road! Kallie came back with me in a Sherpa bag inside the cabin of an SAS flight.

Kallie and I dabbled in a bit of agility, and I had fun showing Kallie in conformation. She had a good show career and I had been hoping that Kallie would become the foundation female of Kalahari Leonbergers, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.

We discovered that Kallie was epileptic right before she turned two years old, and so she has since been spayed. She lived with Todd and his family in Lubbock, Texas. Todd is a vet tech at a local veterinary clinic where they see other Leonbergers, and Kallie got to accompany him to his clinic every day. Unfortunately, her epilepsy got worse, and she had to be put down last year. She will be sorely missed by all of us.
