Leos at Work

Leonbergers successfully compete in numerous avenues of dog sport such as agility, obedience, water rescue, carting, and lots more. The Leonberger Club of America awards the following Versatility Titles for Leonbergers competing in more than one of these areas.

(VL) Versatile Leo: Any Leonberger that earns LCA titles in two different venues shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leo and have the letters "VL" placed in front of its name.

(VLA) Versatile Leo Advanced: Any Leonberger that earns 3 LCA titles in at least two different venues, one of which may be advanced, shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leo Advanced and shall have the letters "VLA" placed in front of its name.

(VLX) Versatile Leo Excellent: Any Leonberger that earns LCA titles in either two different venues, where both are advanced, or in three different venues, where one is advanced, shall be awarded the title of Versatile Leo Excellent and shall have the letters "VLX" placed in front of its name.

LCA Venues that currently qualify for an LCA Versatility Title are: Conformation CH/Conformation Certificate, Obedience, Agility, and Water Work. For the purposes of the Versatility program, an advanced title refers to the Open level in obedience and agility, and the WRD (Water Rescue Dog) title in water work.
